Katherine grew up with a passion for capturing the details of hidden beauty. Her great uncle, who was a remarkable artist and her first inspiration, gave her her first sketchbook and set of charcoal pencils at the age of eight. She now most enjoys painting with oil, and prefers subjects involving fabric and texture as well as the human figure. She continues to experiment, however, with various media and subject matters that are directly intriguing. Her father's taste in art influences her more personal pieces, all of which are displayed in his office. 

 

After being recruited to a college of fine arts, Katherine made the difficult decision not to pursue a BFA and instead to study art briefly in Florence, Italy. She proceeded to graduate with a degree in science from a liberal arts university and is currently pursuing a degree in dental medicine.
